Our 2024 Rail and Sail Excursion is a full day trip taking you on private transportation from Johnson City to Knoxville. Travelers will get to experience the exhilaration of riding the Three Rivers Rambler train and kick back on the Star of Knoxville river boat as they watch scenic Tennessee Hills roll by as they enjoy dinning while underway. After the sailing guests will be taken back to Johnson City. You don’t want to miss this trip through the antiquity of American travel.

Tickets are $135 for Adults, $125 for Children 3-12 Years of Age. Children under 3 may ride for free.

When?

Saturday May 11th

Try to arrive before 7:30 AM

Where Should I Be?

Passengers should arrive no later than 7:30 AM at the Johnson City Railroad Experience. Parking is available across the street from the museum on Boone St.

Round Trip Transport

Passengers will be transported on private charter busses to and from Knoxville. Let us worry about the logistics, all you have to do is climb on board and enjoy! You will be back in Johnson City around 5:00 PM.

Three Rivers Rambler

The Three Rivers Rambler (3RR) is a tourist train operation located in the heart of Knoxville, TN. Since the year 2000, the 3RR has provided memorable train rides from downtown Knoxville to the start of the Tennessee River for thousands of passengers of all ages.

Star of Knoxville Riverboat

The Star is an authentic paddlewheeler is United States Coast Guard approved for 200 passengers. The main deck seats 110 passengers and is fully enclosed, air conditioned, and heated for year round comfort. The vessel is equipped with 2 full bars, a dance floor, band stage, and is exquisitely decorated for the most elegant dinner and entertainment available. From black tie events like weddings and receptions to a casual event like a football charter the atmosphere is right for any occasion.
